After many months of online conferences and events, it’s great to be back doing things in person. Digital Health Rewired 2022 was the perfect opportunity to get back into the swing of things! It was a fantastic couple of days catching up with peers and colleagues, and ended up being incredibly special for us as we became Pitchfest winners!
Having seen so many incredible innovators take to the Pitchfest stage over the years, this year we took the plunge and entered CardMedic into the competition. As one of the most well-renowned start-up competitions, entering was a no-brainer for us.
Every aspect of the competition was exhilarating, from the online heats all the way through to the final. It was a brilliant experience to build our confidence with pitching – standing on stage and given three minutes to pitch CardMedic in front of an incredibly impressive panel of judges is the definition of nerve-wracking!
CardMedic crowned the winner of Digital Health Rewired Pitchfest 2022
Joined by four exciting start-ups, in what’s been named the most competitive Pitchfest yet, we were delighted to be crowned the Pitchfest 2022 winner!
We’d like to thank Digital Health and the judges for this amazing opportunity and congratulations to all the finalists in this year’s competition! We wouldn’t be where we are today without all the incredible volunteers from the NHS, frontline healthcare professionals, allied healthcare professionals and industry giving up their time to help translate content – so thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The award-winning digital start-up supporting inclusive healthcare communication
CardMedic provides digital flashcards in multiple languages to guide people with additional communication needs through clinical interactions. These communication needs could be a result of deafness, blindness, language barriers or because of wearing PPE.
As a result, we are helping to make healthcare accessible to more people, empowering patients to be involved in clinical decision making, and reducing health inequalities. Many of these patients wouldn’t be able to communicate with their clinician otherwise, leaving them confused, anxious, and in some cases, terrified as they do not understand what is happening to them.
CardMedic is already available in more than 20 languages and is being used by 50,000 people in 120 countries. We are aiming for 30 languages to be available soon. We’re currently piloting at University Hospitals Sussex and the Royal Marsden and are excited to introduce CardMedic to Chelsea and Westminster under the CW+ Innovation Programme off the back of the Pitchfest win.
We’re excited to show how CardMedic can be scaled trust wide and make a substantial impact on health inequalities. Winning Pitchfest is a phenomenal prize and will help take us to the next step. Thank you so much.
