Exciting news! We’re thrilled to announce that our very own Dr Rachael Grimaldi, Co-Founder and CEO of CardMedic, was featured on the latest episode of the On Air podcast, hosted by Oncology News Today.

In this episode, Rachael chats with Lucy Holmes about her background and delves into the origins of CardMedic, why it’s an essential tool in cancer care, and the future of the app.
‘There was this global acute crisis in communication and no obvious scalable solution.’
It was this realisation that inspired Rachael to create CardMedic, an innovative communication app designed to make healthcare more accessible for underserved patients who face health inequalities as a result of communication barriers.
One of our customers is The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. With patients travelling to The Christie to receive care from all over Europe, there are often language barriers between these patients and healthcare staff. The trust has been using CardMedic to make care more equitable for cancer patients and bridge these gaps in communication.
‘The Christie has been absolutely essential in building our oncology library. Everything is written by the healthcare staff who are on the frontline, delivering this care day in, day out, and are the experts at what they do.’
Rachael discusses how CardMedic’s partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust has evolved, with important work being done by Bethany Allen and her team at the trust. They’ve created unique oncology scripts specifically for The Christie to help build CardMedic’s oncology library, and importantly, provide their patients with more personalised services.
‘All of CardMedic’s scripts have been written by healthcare and allied healthcare professionals. It’s built this community of likeminded and passionate people who are driven by the same values that we are—making a positive social impact and reducing health inequalities.’
