CardMedic joins prestigious HealthTech accelerator at Texas Medical Centre

At CardMedic, we’re proud of our American roots, having founded the company during a family visit to the US which began just before the reality of the first phase of the global coronavirus pandemic hit. Rachael and I previously spent much of our time split between the US and the UK, in fact, Rachael is an American citizen. When we founded the company, the first wave of the pandemic prevented us from returning to our home in the UK and desperate to help, we conceptualised the idea for CardMedic and launched the company in 72 hours. At the time, little did we know the impact the global pandemic would have or the role it would play in shaping the early days of the company.

Since then, we’ve established operations in both the US and the UK to enable us to serve our customers across American health systems and the NHS trusts and ICSs we’re grateful to be working with. In fact, we recently secured our first rural health contract with the Nor-Lea Hospital District in New Mexico. This is alongside other partnerships including our recent collaboration with Boston Brigham and Women’s Hospital, which is one of the largest teaching hospitals within Harvard Medical School.

Our experience with the Texas Medical Centre Innovation

Just last week we returned from the most amazing trip to Texas Medical Centre Innovation as part of its latest cohort of start-ups to join the prestigious TMC Innovation
Accelerator
for HealthTech.

It was a whirlwind three days spent meeting some incredibly talented people, including our mentors Bill Turpin, Ayse McCracken, and Josh Sol (thank you for being on our side!) and many clinicians. We're super excited to be part of the latest programme which provides a unique opportunity for start-ups harnessing innovative technology to continue to evolve products and services while creating lasting relationships with Texas Medical Centre member institutions, advisors and investors.

"It is always exciting to introduce a new group of talented entrepreneurs into our community," said Tom Luby, Director of TMC Innovation. " Each with their own goals, and at their individual stage, we'll work closely together to help them learn, grow, and navigate this rich clinical landscape. We are honoured to be the bridge between these innovators and the world's largest medical city."

It really was an unmissable opportunity in the most inspiring of settings to analyse in detail our go-to-market plans and product development as we continue to build more and more partnerships with healthcare providers in America. I'm really looking forward to returning to Texas Medical Centre in September to continue the programme, which has provided us with incredible opportunities to realise just how impactful CardMedic can be.
