Better Hearing and Speech Month: Resources
This month, the US is observing Better Hearing and Speech Month, which aims to raise awareness of hearing, voice, speech, and language disorders. Being able to communicate effectively is a fundamental human right, but sadly major communication barriers exist.
Up to 50% of the population will experience a communication barrier at some point in their life. The story is the same in healthcare, which is why we created CardMedic. It’s important that we think about the ways we communicate, so that it is inclusive, and breaks down the barriers that exist.
Communication barriers only exist when we don’t adapt the way we communicate. We recently worked with Alix Lewer to bust some common communication myths, with practical guidance for becoming a better communicator.
