CardMedic healthcare content now available in Ukrainian translations

CardMedic’s purpose is to reduce health inequalities and to that end, it is a truly positive thing that the UK is welcoming of Ukrainian refugees. However, these displaced people who through no fault of their own, find themselves in a strange country, traumatised, and unable to communicate, are often in need of urgent healthcare. In fact, almost 3 in 4  people who were receiving regular care in Ukraine, have not been able to access it since arriving in the UK.

Through our colleagues caring for refugees in GP surgeries, A&E departments, community and mental health, housing centres and other public services, we know how challenging it can be to help these people who face such significant communication barriers, which prevent them receiving equitable care.

At CardMedic, we are focused on doing what we can to help this very difficult situation for Ukrainian refugees in the UK and the healthcare professionals providing care. This is why we’re pleased to say that all CardMedic content is now available with Ukrainian translation, across both free-to-use and subscription libraries. At the point of publication, CardMedic content has been machine translated and checked by a translator. And over time, we will be refining the content with our expert team of translators to ensure it is as accurate as possible.

Through the work we have done to translate CardMedic content into other languages, we have often employed refugees residing in the UK, and we’re pleased to be able to offer work opportunities to refugees as a result. If you are a Ukrainian person living in the UK, or you know a Ukrainian speaker who would be willing to help translate content, please do get in touch so we can help more people get the care they so desperately need.
